Thailand Curfew Hours Relaxed
May 28, 2014 – 5:09 pm
The Thai military has announced a shortened curfew, now to operate from midnight until 4am.
In Bangkok, both The BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway are operating as normal during the day, but will stop services at 9pm for the duration of the curfew. However, BTS and MRT urge all those travelling with the transport networks not to show up at 9pm in order to catch the last trains, as long queues are to be expected.
There have been no reports of any anti-coup protests today. It seems the army has managed to ease some tensions among those opposing the coup by paying off all the rice farmers the money they were owed by the former government. This has been seen a positive step forward in improving the mood.
