Philippines Escapes & Hideaways

on the beach, From £41
Al Faro Cosmio

The Al Faro Cosmio Hotel is a tiny, boutique resort located at the entrance of D’Pearl Bay on the island of Busuanga, Northern Palawan, ideally located for diving the Coron wrecks.

Iconic for it’s lighthouse style and wonderful views out to the Calamian archipelago, the Al Faro Cosmio features just 8 rooms - two in the tower itself and five more in Micronesian style bungalows scattered amongst shade trees around the hillside, with a simple pathway leading down to the beach house pier.

Al Faros’ infinity swimming pool, restaurant and bar are sited high up on the point providing stunning views, in particular sunsets, across the South China Sea. Tropical white sand beaches are just a short boat trip away.

Each room has en suite bathroom with rainwater shower, kingsize bed and safe. WiFi is available throughout the resort.

Restaurant & Bar
Al faro offers international cuisine and authentic Filipino dishes such as the famous Chicken Adobo. Seafood, understandably, is a favourite, but other popular offerings include Spanish Paellas, Italian Risotto funghi, Swiss barbecues and other specialities from across the world.

Al faro is powered by its one energy station using the latest European technology for power storage, ensuring that there is always electricity, WiFi and also cellphone coverage.

Diving the Coron Wrecks
Dive services are provided by the oldest and most experienced of all of Coron’s Dive companies, D’Divers, which is located a few minutes away by “banca” from the jetty.

Activities at Al Faro
D’Pearl Bay is well located for explorers and nature lovers. Many activities, in addition to diving and snorkelling, can be arranged, such as:

  • visits to a number of beautiful white sand fringed islands,
  • trips to waterfalls
  • horse riding
  • safari to Caluit island, the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos’, bizarre Wildlife park populated by animals imported from Africa.
  • Fishing trips
  • Island hopping around the Calamian archipelago
  • Kayaking (free from the jetty)
  • Sailing (boats for rent)
