Thalatta Beach Resort is a cozy, 16 room resort featuring Balinese-style, thatched cottages scattered around an infinity swimming pool, set in lush tropical gardens with ocean views. It is located in Zamboanganita, south of the provincial capital of Negros Oriental, Dumaguete, Philippines.

Rooms are comfortably, though not lavishly, furnished with the usual amenities including air-conditioning, fan, cable TV, free wi-fi, minibar, safe and hot water, plus each has its own terrace with easy chairs in front.

Thalatta also earns Brownie points for deriving some of its energy from thermal and photovoltaic solar panels.

Opened in 2007 by a French-Filipino couple with a love of the sea, Thalatta is an ideal base from which to dive the best dive sites on the southeast of Negros island, including the famous Apo Island located offshore. It is also well connected by ferry to the main Visayan island of Cebu and to the mystic island of Siquijor, both of which boast excellent diving.

For non-divers there is also plenty to explore with volcanoes, mountains, lakes, waterfalls and jungles not far away. A walk outside the resort perimeter will bring you to rural villages, sandy beaches, and the nearby colourful market at Malatapay.

The channel between Negros and Cebu is also famous as a migratory route for whales and dolphins, and boat trips can be organised to go spotting for these beautiful mammals, depending on season.

The main airport at Dumaguete is just 20 minutes drive away.

Dive Centre
Negros Divers is the in-house PADI dive centre, managed by a French dive instructor and staffed by a crew who speak English, German, French, Tagalog & Bisaya. Day dive trips are offered to the famous Apo island, while the local coastline between Dauin and Zamboanita offers great muck diving. The

PADI dive courses are on offer from entry level to Divemaster.
