Philippines Escapes & Hideaways
Busuanga And Coron, Philippines
Puerto Del Sol Resort & Dive Center is located on a peninsular close to the town of Concepcion, on the south coast of Busuanga, the largest island of the Calamianes Group, situated half way between the Philippine islands of Palawan and Mindoro.
Being located on the tip of a peninsular, the resort has the intimacy normally associated with a private island as it projects out into Puerto Del Sol Bay. The style is "Contemporary Native" with beautiful, traditional Palawan cogon grass and bamboo roofs that blend naturally into the tropical landscape.
All the resort's structures are carefully situated around the tropical hillsides of the peninsular giving each spectacular views of the bay and nearby white sand-fringed tropical Islands.
Accommodation
Puerto del Sol's guest accommodation features luxury "Suite Cottages" comprising main bedroom, attached bathroom and an adjacent private open living pavilion. The main bedroom has a king size bed and a cozy window seat that can also be used as an additional single bed.
The Living Pavilion has a spacious daybed, sitting area, and a large hammock where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular sunsets.
Puerto del Sol is ideally located for diving the world's second largest fleet of sunken Japanese WWII wrecks scattered around Busuanga, 14 of which so far have been discovered, all within diveable depths - second only to Chuuk in Micronesia.
In addition to wrecks, the area features spectacular drop-offs, deep dives, caves, brackish water lakes, and a rich and varied marine life. The variety of hard and soft corals is amazing with more than 500 species (the Caribbean only has around 60).
In addition to diving, Puerto del Sol offers kayaking, island safaris and horse riding amongst the islands.
