The Walea Dive Center Resort is located in a private area of the Walea Bahi island. In 1994, the nearby area became a marine park where fishing and docking is forbidden. It is small and exclusive with only 14 recently enlarged and renovated bungalows that look directly out onto the sea.

Located right on the equator and protected by the large Gulf of Tomini, it is always summer here thanks to the microclimate which keeps the monsoon rains at bay.

Only natural materials have been used for the buildings and the bungalows are spread out over an area of 3 hectares amongst trees and tropical flowers. Everything is devised so as to blend in with the surrounding nature.

No solid or liquid wastes from the decomposition process reach the sea.

There's a porch with table and chairs, a double bedroom (an additional bed can be added upon request), a wonderful private tiled bathroom with shower, double mosquito nets and ceiling fan. Every evening, relaxing on your cottage's porch, you will enjoy some fabulous breathtaking sunset. This is the place where nature is the one and only protagonist. "Leonardo", the mascot of the resort, will join you in your spare time... The dock goes from the reef all the way to the rumamakan, where the restaurant and the bar are. The kitchen is ran by Italian people. They perfectly manage to melt the traditional and tasteful italian cuicine with the typical exotic indonesian one. What comes out? Each and every dish is made up of different recipes, products, flavours and spices!

The resort also provides a satellite phone, a tv and a cute tiny boutique. If you love fishing or you just want to try something new, trolley fishing is for you!!

DIVE CENTER:

The Walea dive center is the only Padi Five Stars (nr.6141) in the whole Central Sulawesi. All the activities of the dive center (the PADI courses and the dives) are organized by Italian instructors. The dive center provides courses and videos in english and other languages. If you love diving and snorkeling......Walea is the right place for you!

At the Dive Center you can...

Attempt to all the PADI courses from the OPEN WATER to the DIVEMASTER.
Rent all the equipment necessary for diving, snorkeling and trolley fishing.
Recharge batteries, torches, etc.

Wash your equipment in fresh water. In the Dive Center you'll find 20 complete equipment Mares sets (jacket and double regulator with pressure-gauge), 30 air alluminium tanks and 3 boats designed and made for diving. Each one of its 3 boats is made of fibreglass, and thanks to the powerfull engines you can reach many diving points in a few minutes. Near the air compressor, a brand new Bauer miniverticus super silenced, there's a wide open hang & dry area where to leave all your diving and snorkeling equipment.
