One of the best ways to explore the huge variety of world-class dive sites scattered around the central Philippines, is by dive Safari. None of the dive sites are far from land making liveaboards unnecessary, and the numerous islands offer a great choice of beach resorts to stay at at the end of each day's diving.
The Visayas are the archipelago of islands, large and small, that lie in between the country's 2 main islands: Luzon in the north and Mindanao in the south. Most of these islands are blessed with colorful reefs, beautiful beaches and friendly inhabitants.
Travel between the islands and to the dive sites will be aboard a traditional, spider-like outrigger boat known as a ‘banca’. The banca also serves as an excelent dive platform, allowing divers to hang on to the bamboo outriggers for stabililty before and after dives, while being remakably stable while sailing, minimising roll.
Arriving at each island stop, you will check into your beach resort for the night. No sleeping on the banca on this trip - instead comfortanble beds with attached bathrooms and, at several locations, a choice of restaurants, bars and nightlife to enjoy.
Each new stop-over offers different scenery topside, varied underwater environment and a fabulous array of marine life.
If you love to dive and you like a bit of adventure, a dive safari is an efficient way to see different places while enjoying the best of Philippines' diving.

The owner has put a lot of effort in creating a natural looking environment, aside from the native style cottages, the garden is teeming with flowers, different kind of orchids and a variety of trees to give sufficient shade, during the hottest hours of the day. The restaurant and bar, as well as most of the rooms overlook the lush gardens and the pool.
Oasis Resort was opened in year 2000 and is located just off Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol. In 2013 the resort constructed a new building in the garden area that houses 4 rooms and a (honeymoon) suite-room on the second floor. These rooms are all facing the swimming pool.
All rooms in the resort can be on fan or air-conditioned and all are equipped with a mini-bar and a safety deposit box. All but the recently built rooms don’t have a television. TV doesn’t fit the concept of an Oasis. Then again there is WiFi available throughout the resort premises
The restaurant, again made out of native materials, seats up to 30 people and opens up on 3 sides, so from anywhere inside you have a great view of the pool and gardens, it serves a mix of Filipino and western food, and as the resort is close to the sea, each meal comes with a wide choice of seafoods! The restaurant serves Ala Carte, but for groups from 4 - up, they can serve buffet style meals as well. The Oasis bar, serves a variety of delicious cocktails and fresh fruit shakes!
In Bohol, Kayaking, motor bike tours, repelling, zip lines, buggy driving, dolphin watching, paintball, spelunking and hiking are just some of the activities on offer.
Sumisid Lodge is a cozy lodge that has been operating since 1981 and was one of the first dive lodges at Panagsama Beach in Moalboal. It has a beautiful view of the ocean with the island of Negros right across the straight. The lodge has a very casual, homely atmosphere; guests dress in t-shirts and shorts and get together at mealtimes. All meals are served 'buffet' style, the kitchen has build up quite a reputation over the years and so make sure you sample their dishes!
The lodge is built almost entirely with native materials such as bamboo and woods and there is great detail for interior decorations, giving the lodge its unique look and feel. It features a lounge area, which doubles as a dining room, as well as a big outdoor verandah where you can sit, relax, read a book, enjoy a drink and from where you walk straight onto the beach. Free WIFI is available throughout the lodge.
The Lodge is a 2 storey building with 5 A/C rooms with private bathrooms on the ground floor and 5 fan rooms with common bathrooms on the top floor. There are three A/C rooms with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, the other two A/C rooms have 2 single beds that can be placed together, all A/C rooms have a private bathroom with hot & cold water. The fan rooms have common bathrooms only, which have been newly renovated and are kept very clean and tidy.
The dive center is right next door! In the morning you can enjoy your breakfast and then just stroll over to the dive shop for the morning dive, back for lunch and then out again for your afternoon dive.
Your dive equipment can be stored overnight in the dive center. The house reef and drop off is right in front of the dive center. Aside from diving, it's ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
